Which Puppy version for Bleachbit ?

#1 Post by t500 »

Hi Guys,

Is anyone successfully using Bleachbit and on which Puppy version / derivative ?.

I've tried different bleachbit pets and python dependencies on Puppy 525 Lucid but bleachbit still won't launch when I click on the icon in the menu bar.

I am happy to use a different Puppy if it means being able to use bleachbit (also any links to the appropriate bleachbit & python pets that work will be appreciated ).

Thank you.

If still installed, open a shell and issue: ldd /usr/bin/bleachbit

Who's missing?

Hi Semme,

Have tried your shell command - it says "command not found"

I have downloaded and installed the following pets for Puppy 525:
1) Bleachbit-0.7.3.pet
2) Python-2.6-Lucid.pet

When I click and launch Bleachbit, the box appears but, when I click on the option to clean - nothing happens.
Any help will be appreciated.
Thank you.

I am using Bleachbit in Tahrpup 6.0.3
I got it from Quickpet that is a special program installer that comes in Tahrpup.
My Bleachbit is version 1.8
Could be you have a buggy version.

Try this version of Bleachbit

Are listed programs to clean checked?

This won't work with python 2.6, was packaged for version 2.7

Hi Semme,

Have tried your shell command - it says "command not found"
I get this:

Code: Select all

ldd /usr/bin/bleachbit
	not a dynamic executable
Bleachbit is working for me.

Geoffrey,

Thanks for the info about needing Python 2.7!!

Very good pet of Bleachbit.
Thanks!

I did not see a reference for the Python version in your pet post, so was not sure about that.
Built the latest Bleachbit version 1.8 in Carolina, dependency Python, added Monsie's history fix.

UnicorNOPen provides Bleachbit 1.6 in its menu 'System'

PS :
UnicorNOPen audio quality is fantastic (usual under Windows)
First time the sound is so HD with a Puppy distro (vivid unicorn)
