Is it possible to change ALT + TAB from 'next' to 'toggle'

#1 Post by uio »

Good-day,

Presently, ALT + TAB goes through the cycle of windows, one after the other in a set list. I would like to set ALT + TAB so that it switches between the two most recently open windows, as I find this most useful for workflow. In toggle, ALT + TAB will go to the next most recent window, and then ALt + TAB would go back to the first one. ALT + TAB + TAB would go to the third most recent window... perhaps you'Ve used systems where this was the default....
Kind regards,
Anyway, I am using jwm under Tahrpup 6.0.2 on a usb...

I intend 'toggle' to have binary sense : http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/T/toggle.html

You can set this up in JWM Configuration Manager.
menu->Desktop->JWM Window Manager Settings->Keyboard Shortcuts

Click on the help button to see all the options.

alt + tab is already setup for next.

I got part of what you are asking by making a new shortcut for previous.(prev)

alt + z

This moves back to previous window.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected

Hi bigpup,

This is a really good alternative ! Thanks for the suggestion. I set up ALT+shift for prev.

I'll give this a go, and if I don't find (or see from someone else) a 'toggle' solution will likely use this set-tup.

Thanks again,

uio
