Try restarting your browser. That works for me when the Internet gets real slow.

" the browser responds fast with other sites. Only murga-linux is slow."
I have to agree Flash.
I always use different browsers.
I always delete history etc.
It's not great.
Chris.

For the record: for me, too, the forum has been very slow sometimes during the past few days. It's ok at the moment.

Still bad Monday 9am Sydney.
All other websites fine.
Running the latest Slimjet browser....no difference.
Weeks ago when John did an upgrade it made a big difference.
Something is borking it lately.
No disrespect....Chris.

As I understand it, what John did wasn't an upgrade. He switched providers, which involved switching servers, and while he was at it he tweaked a few settings. No really substantial changes to the forum.
I have no idea why the forum seems slow to some people and not others. For instance, it seems normal to me. Sometimes it responds instantly and sometimes it takes a few seconds. That's about par for the course these last ten years or so.

Maybe PM this to some Aussie Puppy types.
See if there has been any hiccups just on the OZ side.
Cheers....Chris.

There's been some delays here when clicking on URLs within the forum.

Me as well, from Michigan/USA, for the past week or so. Most times clicked thread links take 3-7 seconds before responding and loading. No biggie! Just a little annoying.

Hey,
You guys are right
Someone was exploiting a a flaw on a diagnostic page and pretty much killing the server ...
Why do people even do this ?
I guess this has been going for a week
I have disabled the offending functionality and I believe it is fixed.
Please let me know how it is now.
For the record, the forum is on a better server, more up-to-date OS and software, and has been tweaked ... So it should be better.
The automated backups do slow the site down a bit, but that is once every few days for about a minute.
Someone please PM me if serious issues are encountered again.
Cheers
JohnM
