The Linux Cargo Plane is here! IBM

#1 Post by gcmartin »

Picture a Hardware machine running more than 10000 Linux distros, each having a subset of users, simultaneously! That was a performance achievement of an earlier IBM test, a decade ago for internal use.

Today, IBM releases to the Public that ability!

We may not be able to afford one, but, there is something subtle and important about this announcement:
Containers! (Virtual machines accelerators)
RDP (multimedia use for any/every user within any container)

We may not have Containers in Puppyland, yet (its coming as the major vendors Canonical, SUSE, RedHat, and others including Slackware gear up with additional subsystems in future releases), but it will come.

XRDP was built for community use by @GoingNUTs but only a few members are aware of it operations and benefits (its primary benefit is that ANY PC with any OS (Linux/Windows/MACs) can connect without having to add software/pets/packages to connect to the PUPPY running XRDP.

Hope this announcement validates the future direction on Tovalds and Linux for many years to come. And the knowledge it will run on any hardware you have.
