They now offer an Ubuntu install as well as open-source downloads.
Has anyone ported to this Puppy?
I'm most fond of Just-Lighthouse JL64-603 at the moment but running on any Puppy would make for some interesting experiments.
Note: In Amateur Radio someone combined this with another open-source app to fully remote-operate a 2-way radio from their smartphone.
Anyone tried Splashtop Audio-Video Streaming Server?

Odd.. Is there any reason you wouldn't include their link? >> http://www.splashtop.com/linux

The oddity is that that I did ... but it vanished ... internet gremlins I tell you!

A wonderful full screen remote desktop experience
That is what RDP does for Windows and MACs.
The XRDP mission was suppose to do the same, but,its author ran into problems in doing so. Seems this product has taken something like XRDP to a new level where is incorporates the best of the RDP protocol for media streaming OR the Google protocol to do what XRDP using VNC could not do for multimedia streams from the Linux PC to a remote.
XRDP was added to the PUPPY arsenal couple years back by @GoingNUTs. It works fabulously! In this case, you start XRDP on a Linux PC. Then go to any other PC (Windows/MACs/Unix/Linux) and without installing anything, use the already built-in app to get a remote desktop session on the XRDP PC. Again, NO installation is required of any PC to get a remote screened session on the location of that Linux box.
This kind of remote screened desktop service has been a part of Windows (and OS2) desktops for the past 24 years where one could get a screen on a remote PC with audio-video active. Thus you have an experience as if you were sitting right at that remote PC.
In the Splashtop shown by the link provided, it mentions that you need an account for this to work. And it mentions that a Linux client may not be available, here, as well.
Hope this is helpful.
P.S. Thanks to the both of you for bringing this to our attention. Let's hope.

I am guessing that the fldigi radio control app may be matched to the Splashtop app somehow - but maybe not.
When I get some computer and radio things sorted out here in the next few weeks I'll have to test fldigi with XRDP.
If it cannot be made to work then I'll return to the Splashtop for Puppy question.
BTW: What about the security aspect?
Being able to attach from any PC sounds scary ...
Thanks!

OK, cool ... what used to be secure often no longer is ... always seems good to ask these days ... just to be sure!
Thanks.
Thanks.
