The appearance is more attractive than the default hi-color @rg66, it's nice. Can you help to find the xfce 4.12 default interface theme as shown on their website? By the way does the hibernate works on X-tahr and X-slacko?

Looks like the Xfce theme on the website is Faience. You can get it here: http://smokey01.com/rg66/X-common-packages/. XFaience is the blue version.

Tahr and slacko appear to only support suspend to RAM and not to disk (hibernate).

Code: Select all

# echo -n disk > /sys/power/state
bash: echo: write error: Function not implemented

rg66 -- I have made an alternate (modified) SFS for X-Tahr that includes the Caja file manager from MATE. At 254mb, it's a little big to upload to my usual filehost site (DataFileHost, max size 150mb)... but I'd love to share it.

Do you know of a place I could upload it?

There's lots of free storage out there. Dropbox, google drive (15GB), copy.com (I have 25GB there) etc.......

More to the point -- if I PM you a link to it, can you host it for me? Drive is the one Google 'product' I've never been cozy with... I can put it up and send you the link, but I'd rather not play host full on if I don't have to...

I have very limited bandwidth so downloading 250MB and uploading the same amount isn't something I really want to do, sorry.

OK. I got it uploaded.

Here's the scoop. What you do is you download this SFS to a folder either above or below your install folder, reboot pfix=ram, and replace the X-Tahr main SFS with this one. The two SFSs will have the same name, so make sure you don't download it to the exact same location as your install. A folder inside of /mnt/home will work fine, as will a folder separate from that on the same partition or a different partition.

Once it's all downloaded, check the MD5sum. It should be --

Code: Select all

9b550fbcea21cde649227fe55b347099
Once you've verified that the MD5sum is the same (that means that the download worked -- it's important to do that), shut down and reboot in RAM Mode. (pfix=ram boot option)

Copy the new main SFS to the install directory, overwriting the old one. They both have the same name, as I said, so a simple drag-n-drop should do it.

Upon reboot, open any of the desktop place icons (sda1, Home, etc) and it will ask you to select a file manager. Select "Caja File Manager" (I think that's it, it's Caja something) and that should be it.

That's it -- you've now got an awesome XFCE Pup with a slightly better file manager than stock. Enjoy...

Having read all of that, here is your download link --> https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B9LIR1 ... sp=sharing

Please don't come after me if it makes a mess on the expensive rug or shoots the cat... I've done what I can, but I can't do everything, OK?

This bug (link below) also affects X-Tahr 1b2 and the Caja version I (sort of) produced.

I've been working on this for a few hours and have Blueman GUI working and can transfer files back and forth to my phone. A few issues to sort out if possible:

1) I can browse my phone directories but can't see any files.
2) Error on blueman-applet start, see screenshot below. The org.blueman.Mechanism.service file is there though.

Excellent! Are you using the internal BT adapter or a USB dongle? Are you having any problems with your WiFi?

See the procedure here for setting the default audio output. But I don't know how this works with your microphone.

So, if I try and boot X-Precise 2.4 NonPAE on a particular odd system I have, it will boot to desktop after a manual run of xorgwizard to select the openchrome driver.

X-Tahr 1b2 on the same system cannot raise a desktop; its driver selection does not support the particular graphics chipset that this system has.

Can the openchrome driver from X-Precise 2.4 be recompiled to function in X-Tahr 1b2?
