The Privacy.net Analyzer

#1 Post by labbe5 »

If you browse the web behind a VPN, be it VPNBook, or any other, you can analyze how much information a website can gather about you, and if the IP address is really different from your real one. And compare that data when not using a VPN, in plain sight, so to speak, with the help of The Privacy.net Analyzer.

I tried it at work, and we can have the name of each administrator of the network, with their phone numbers, the expiring date of the domain name, a full page of information, all available to websites. My guess is, encryption should make this information not so easily available.

Until you visualize that content, you do not fully realize how much information a website can garner about you.
