XZ file extensions

Yeah, well, have to ask Flash to allow xz extension then , or otherwise re-pack it as tar.gz. .

How about it Flash? Is there a reason for it not to be available?

Or zip your xz file "store only" after xz'ing it, and upload as a "zip" file.
