Google Code Closing?

I read on another forum that Google Code will be closing.

China is not playing with Google at the moment. This means I cannot see any of those websites owned and run by Google, so I cannot confirm this.

If it is true, if anyone has anything on there, it may be a good idea to move it to Github. There is a utility on Google Code to do this apparently.

There will be a lot of projects which will be lost forever after the closing. We can all help by saving useful old forgotten projects perhaps?

Google code stopped taking new projects back in March and published a timetable saying it would be closing in Jan 2016:

The above link also provides tools for migrating to the likes of Git Hub.
