Cups interface is showing up in Palemoon but nothing appearing in Chrome.

Didn't install a ,deb. Downloaded and extracted manually if that could make a difference..No ink in printer though. :)

Full Vivid booting - now OK?

#48 Post by davids45 »

G'day James C,

Thanks for posting your Full Vivid has not had a booting issue - your post's psychic resonance seems to have also fixed my Full's odd booting  .

Of course, now that I post it is OK, it will probably misbehave on next boot  .

666PhilB and others:

I can't confirm but I think my changes auto-saved to my CD on shutdown. I normally choose regular shutdown w/o save file so I'm not sure why or how my changes remained.

Now I could be wrong so I'm checking if others have seen the same.

Best,

Slavvo67

The PPM would not load about 3 or 4 of my pets, stating the file name inside did not match the pet name. A somewhat ridiculous add by someone, though I'm pretty sure it's a woof-ce item and not VividPup. Anyone with bad intention could just rename items so it doesn't seem logical to have this apparent security measure in place.

On a good note, I added VividPup to a USB with other iso's using ISOBooter. A fun project and Vivid worked flawlessly.

Best,

Nice weather so kinda busy, lots of yard work to catch up(need the exercise anyway) but I'll try it on a frugal when i get a extra few minutes.

Side note, the Nvidia card on my main Linux box died last night, now for the fun of returning and waiting for the replacement. :)

Libre Office - Solved

#55 Post by slavvo67 »

Hi 666PhilB:

Is the installation of Libre Office a full version or is it cut down by someone? It seems to work fine until I try running my script to batch convert rtf files to pdf. It seems to work on all other puppies but for some reason, I'm having issues with Vivid.

Here's my script:

for i in *.rtf; do "libreoffice4.4" --headless --convert-to pdf:"writer_pdf_Export" $i;done

I'm not sure why Vivid is being picky with it. I have Libre 4.4 installed in Barry's Quirky Unicorn where the same script works flawlessly.

Any thoughts?

AMENDED - FIX:

I solved the issue. The script will not run while Libre Office is running. Apparently Libre Office is considered running when the quickstart icon is open; which it is by default in the icon tray. - Closed the quickstart icon and we're all good now.
