Hi All,
Read following two posts first.
This is a portable application, Puppy Version & Linux Distro independent.
My guess is that there are probably Puppy-Specific applications which can do the same thing; FTP maybe? But as I'm trying to wean the wife off Windoz, I wanted something simple and which could be automated. A "Well-minded" search, http://wellminded.net63.net/, didn't reveal anything specific.
I had hoped to find a Linux version of "FreeFileSych" the program she uses under Windows which is supposed to have a Linux version. But the downloads I got, including that from a Ubuntu repo, either were for 64-bit systems or corrupted. In any event, trying to unpack or run the extracted versions produced errors.
Stumbled upon "Super Flexible File Synchronizer", https://www.syncovery.com/download/linux/
Which advertises:
"The Linux version is free of charge and does not take a registration code. You must agree to the License Agreement, except for the “license types

I have no doubt that this is a welcome addition to Puppyland.
Although not cross platform wo/license agreement, there is Puppy's own @Don570 edition of "Puppy-Rsync", found here.
And, there are several DualPane Filemanagers which provide visual understanding and following of "syncing" information in one pane with another. This provides the comfort level that persons new to syncing would need and want. On this one, the author came to Puppy Linux and provided his version for our use. And others are here. I have use it as well as it predicessor for quite a number of years. Also it matches the Windows version(s) of Dual Pane FMs which sync among many other things. Lists of other Linux Dual Pane FMs are mentioned in this forum, here.
These Puppy products also achieve synchronization.

Folder Backup & Sychronization
Hi gmartin & All,
Thank you, gmartin, for calling our --or at least, my-- attention to don570's excellent file backup and sychronization app. As I've come to expect from Puppy devs in general and don570 in particular, applications built for Puppy as as good, or better, than Linux generic applications. don70's Puppy-Rsync accomplishes the same tasks as the Linux generic, yet is roughly 1/12th the size.
I've tested Puppy-Rsync under OB-Precise. It appears fully functional and easy to use. Decompression and examination of the Puppy-Rsync pet revealed that it consists primary of scripts. That indicates, as don570 suggested, it should run under any Pup "as long as gtkdialog 0.8 or better is installed".
I can think of only three reasons for using SuperFlexibleFileSynchronizer rather than Puppy-Rsync. (1) Dual-booting Puppy and some other Linux; (2) Puppy-Rsync "book-marks" only 5 routines, while the other may(?) enable more; or (3) a user of Puppy searching using the phrase "folder synchronization" didn't find an application named "Rsync."
The last points out the importance of "advertising" in data-rich environment. I've posted to the Puppy-Rsync thread using a Title I hope will make it easier for those desiring a Backup & Synchroization application to find Puppy-Rsync.
