SlackOff
Hi guys, I've been using micko's latest slacko 6 for some time running live for my home media pc. I've noticed each time Firefox was running slow and I was always installing a few apps and then I was happy. So I manually removed some apps and replaced them and made this ISO. So I figured why not share it. It just uses the default slacko 6 devx to compile.

Boot Manager Problem?
G'day ttuuxxx,
Using slackoff as a Frugal and all looked OK until I tried to add some extra sfs files via the System>Boot manager program. This is after a few boots - not with the first-time load-sfs option which is fine.
The extra sfs seemed to add (moved to the right panel of Boot manager) and on re-booting was listed by the Boot manager as being loaded.
But nothing showed up in the menus nor by looking via Rox for any of the expected files from the sfs. The earlier-loaded sfs during first re-boot are OK (e.g. see icons in the below desktop image for LibreOffice and wine programs).
Using the SFS-Load-on-the-fly worked so the extra sfs look OK (I've tried two different extra sfs with the Boot manager, neither worked).
Also checked the sfs in another Frugal Pup (SuperLupu) and its Boot manager loaded the sfs without problem on re-boot.
Can't recall trying the Boot manager in slacko this way, so should I give that a go if you think it would be worth it?
Just so James C doesn't feel you're picking on him for his partitionitis, here's my desktop .

Boot Manager Problem - still NoGo
G'day ttuuxxx,
As per your suggestion, I tried the 'rebuild menus' option with two extra sfs "loaded" - according to Boot manager's dialog box - but nothing happened.
I also tested my Frugal slacko-5.9.3 and its Boot manager did load and run the extra sfs files.
The MD sum of my slackoff iso download is correct.
Puzzling.
I might next try a fresh Frugal of slackoff and load all the sfs at first Save avoiding the later use of Boot manager, just to check things.

I packaged up the previous boot manager before the two updates. You could try that one and see.davids45 wrote:G'day ttuuxxx,
