How to open .gz file in Precise Puppy?

How to open .gz file in Precise Puppy?

I have a driver installer for brothers Printers and it is a .GZ file and when I try to open the installer .gz file , it tells me that .gz is unsupported. How do I open this file in puppy precise andy help would be greatly apreciated

A .gz file is a gzip archive that probably has a few files in it.

You can uncompress a gzip file with Rox, just click on the file and it will ask if you want to decompress the file in the current location.

Rox will delete the gzip archive after uncompressing so you may want to make a copy of the file before uncompressing.

:D Hello,
Go to where you saved the file.
Open a terminal.
(Right click/new/terminal here) or focus the window and hit ~.
Enter:
"tar xvf filename"
Close the Windows, and open your eyes, to a whole new world
