Can someone mirror EZpup-4.0v5.pet?

puppylinux.ca has been down for over a week, so would be good to have access to this pet somewhere else.

Thanks!

Tried 4.0v5 and don't get what I expected. It is unusable.

Some details:
* Puppy barebones 4.2.1 modded to suit my needs
* Official Nvidia drivers installed
* Full DRI xorg installed
* Screenshot below

So how would I fix this?

Ezpup is a version of Icewm that Whodo made, 4.2.1 has ICEWM already included, why would you want to install this? The best thing to do is uninstall it, then click menu/shutdown and click the advance tab, now click 'switch to icewm' and 2 seconds later you'll have icewm
if you wanted some of the themes from ezpup the rename the .pet to .tar.ga and extract ezpup into a folder and copy over the themes, same with If you wanted the extra icons.

I started with the barebones version of Puppy. I just installed the icewm from the package manager (after uninstalling ezpup) and it still looks the same (the problem with the images and menus and such).

SO, there is something missing but I'm not sure what or how to find out.

Thats the one I used. It acted same as the one in ezpup. Like I had said, I think there is a missing dependency but not sure how to find out what it is.

Getting Rid of EZpup

#48 Post by davec51 »

I put EXpup in my Puppy (4.2.1 Frugal). It's nice, but I decided to stick with xfce. When I tried to uninstall it through the usual procedure, I got the notice that it was being processed, but nothing happened. It's still there.
Any advice?

Dave if it won't uninstall, then manually remove it, Rename the .pet to .tar.gz and extract it, find all the corresponding files on your pupsave and delete them, other than
/root/.xinitrc & /etc/windowmanager
both of those are needed big time :)
/etc/windowmanager <--- open that and make sure it says something like xfce or what ever you usually type to start it,

try this code in a terminal
ldd /usr/bin/icewm

and also try this one
ldd /usr/bin/icewm-session

and see if your missing anything

Hi, is there any chance this will work on Wary 5.5?

I tried installing the only version I could find on the net, 4.0 and it did nothing - I mean it did not show up in menu and even after fixmenus and restart of x and the pc - still nothing.

Am I missing something?

Hope for a quick reply, though this thread is very old:)

First exit X
then type xwin icewm-session
and see if it starts, if it does report back
If not
type xwin jwm and report back

Hi ttuuxxx, I got another small problem, whenever I boot up in puppy(I'm now using icewm as default wm) then a small black window is open and I can't kill or close it. I can only minimize it from taskbar/panel, to tray, but the window stays open and I can move it to the left side of the screen where its less annoying.

Can you help me get rid of it?

I tried to find out what starts up with puppy but I don't know the name of this window since is has none.

If I restart X, then it goes away and instead I see the network connection in the tray.

It is a Icewm bug I have lived with myself. I was lazy and just moved it to another desktop . It would fix itself on a logout also.
antiX Bugfixes:

64 bit kernel recompiled so non-free drivers will build in Wheezy.
64 bit alert message when booting 32 bit iso fixed.
'ghost' window fix in IceWM.
With ours, the ghost window was for volume icon. I don't know what the bugfix was and since you are running a older version of Icewm. You probably have to live with the bug.

Or the info may help on pointing to to the solution.
