Ftree family tree genealogy program

#1 Post by ttuuxxx »

well I came across this little static program and it works straight out of the box, All I had to do is make a quick simple icon and package it up.
Anyways its small and works well.
enjoy

This is so wonderful! I have a lot of people that have been looking for something like this. Thank you so much!

P.S.: It seems to work very well.

Ok, let me ask one question. Is there an online guide on how to use this program? I tried it and have had the hardest time with it. I can't figure out how to change information or appropriately add information. Right now, it somehow thinks my wife is child. If I can't fix this, I will have to uninstall it and start over. Any ideas?
The only windows I have are those on my home.

I've only been able to effectively use the program by using my middle mouse button to select names on the diagram and then update the information in the panel on the left side of the screen. Once you get the proper person selected, it's really easy.

If you have your name selected, enter your spouse in the spouse area and your children in the children field right beneath the spouse.

If you don't have a middle mouse button, you can probably simulate a middle button by clicking both the right and left at the same time. My roller ball acts as a middle button when I press it.

I haven't read the manual. Maybe there are better ways to do things.

When you make a mistake, you just delete the marriage, individual, etc. using Edit ("A" in the image above). You select the individual you want to work on by entering the ID of the individual you want to work on into the ID box ("B" in the image above).
