ProZilla 2.04 beta3 |
|
Well Prozilla was first found by Mu and he had a pup version that worked well but didn't give you a menu item. So I basically repacked his version with a menu listing and a new crappy icon made by yours truly.LOL
But then I figured why not a static version also so I packaged up a static version that was listed at the official Prozilla website with a menu listing and my crappy icon, lol
Both packages should work without any other Libs I included all the missing libs with mu's original version and the static one didn't need any for puppy 4.0 so it should work out of the box. well enjoy if one don't work the other should.

ps I hope one-day that someone will change the gui so you can use mouse paste , or clipboard monitoring, or browser integration. I'm lazy when it comes to ctrl+v lol
ProZilla is a download accelerator for Linux which gives you a 200% to 300% improvement in your file downloading speeds.
Its features:
* Supports FTP & HTTP including redirection (ProZilla & ProzGUI).
* Resume Supported (ProZilla & ProzGUI).
* Complete acceleration: The file will be downloaded as fast as possible as your bandwidth allows if not otherwise specified (ProZilla & ProzGUI).
* Unlike certain other download accelerators available for Linux, this really works.
* The number of connections that prozilla uses can be specified (ProZilla & ProzGUI).
* FTPsearch support now permits fetching Mirror locations and pinging them and selecting the fastest server is automatically done (ProZilla & ProzGUI).
* Downloading the same file in parts from several servers at once to increase speed (ProzGUI).

Hello Everyone,
Prozilla is truly an excellent package. I have downloaded 100's of iso's, pups, pets with Prozilla and it has never let me down. That's why I include it in TEENpup.
Say for example your downloading a 15mb pet from say www.dotpups.de and it keeps timing out or claims that the package has been successfully downloaded when it hasn't.
If you use Prozilla this problem won't happen.
And lastly thanks ttuuxxx for compiling Prozilla with all it features.
Again Truly ever Puppy user should have this app included in their menu, it's excellent!

I know this is an old thread, but the links aren't working for me anymore, and LOTS of googling hasn't helped find either file. Anybody have them to post? If not I'll do it when I get back home.

Hello, sketchman.
I don't know how useful you'll find this source code....
https://archive.org/details/tucows_215405_ProzGUI (the file card)
https://ia600400.us.archive.org/33/items/tucows_215405_ProzGUI/ (the ftp listing)
Best regards.

here's a pet to try http://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/19554672/prozilla.pet
it works for me in firefox ... i needed to set firefox to 'always ask' where to download files to. i also have 'flashgot' installed and this gave me the option to use prozilla as the downloader.
i was getting 1500kbps from ibiblio ... usually it's 54kbps

ProZilla Subject description: For which Puppy series is it good for? 2.xx, 3.xx 4.xx 5.xx |
|
Hi,
I would like to use ProZilla, but the compiling seems to have been done for 2.xx series (2008).
There is no mention for which Puppy series the ProZilla pet is good for, even though the link is revived. Since i use a Puppy 5.xx series, it could have an adverse effect on my save file.
I now use either Flareget (free for a limited number of downloads) with Precise 5.7.1, or Downthemall, or Flashgot, plugins for Firefox.
I would like to add ProZilla, but if it is good only for 2.xx series, i won't bother trying this pet.

Is the single PET offered by @666philb versus the 2 files offered by @sketchman providing the same functionality? Is one just a simpler solution to the same service?
Curious

Enlarge the ProZilla gui? |
|
I have been using ProZilla for some time and like its performance.
But the size of the gui is just too small! I am getting old and I have a hard time reading the gui and the imputs to ProZilla screen.
Is there any way to increase the size of the gui?
If this can't be done, are there commands for ProZilla so that I can run it from the command-line.
{edit} The commands can be found at:

Hi 666philb (et al),
I use Precise (v 5.6), Quickpet Precise (v 1.9.4) and SeaMonkey (v 2.26.1).
I have installed, as recommended in your post above, "prozilla.pet" and the Mozilla add-on "FlashGot (v 1.5.6)".
Unimportantly, I also have slow Broadband, but importantly (I am also slow) and I've not figured out how to use "prozilla" with SeaMonkey so I would be pleased to have any elaboration of the instruction kindly given above and I also wonder if "prozilla" can be used with "Quickpet Precise".
My regards
