htop, v. 1.0.3, just out

#1 Post by musher0 »

Hello, all!

Please find attached a fresh compile of the latest version of htop, version 1.0.3,
published today. I've compiled from the source mentioned here:
http://linux.softpedia.com/get/System/S ... 4547.shtml

On that page, you'll also find the changes from v. 1.0.2. to v. 1.0.3, at
http://linux.softpedia.com/progChangelo ... -4547.html.

Enjoy!

I installed your Pet package and when clicking on Htop in the menu, Htop fails to start.
I think this is due to it not starting from terminal and an edit of the htop.desktop file should remedy things.
For now, I have it uninstalled on lupu 520 as to start it, I have to open a terminal and type in htop.
Then it displays and runs.

Hi,
thanks for this update !
but would you mind give the distro you have compiled it on? these /usr/bin/htop-1.0.3 binary requires GLIBC-2.15 which imho is present only on later Puppies.

running it from console on a fresh (i.e. = pristine booting) wheezy-3.5.2.5 returns this:

Code: Select all

# ./htop-1.0.3
./htop-1.0.3: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.15' not found (required by ./htop-1.0.3)
#
i've compiled it on wheezy and it works OK >>>> here is the pet.
enjoy!

ps: i did not have re-edited htop.desktop

cheers,
charlie

Hello, 8-bit.

Here's an alternate launcher for it.
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... ost#773430

Copy and save in /root/my-applications/bin/ under the filename htop-transparent.sh.
You'd make it executable, of course. You may want to edit the Exec= line in
/usr/share/applications/htop.desktop
to this launcher (replacing the plain htop command with the
/root/my-applications/bin/htop-transparent.sh script).

BFN.

@charlie6:

I compiled it under Upup-Raring-3.9.9.2 (i.e. eglibc 2.17).

ASRI Htop will run Moeppy in Japan

#8 Post by Pelo »

Lucid 528 runs Htop by ASRI from terminal, in Japan, but in France too. But via le Menu, the previous version appears.
Version 1.0.3 is
Tag all children ('c' key)
Fixes in accounting of guest time when using virtualization (thanks to Patrick Marlier)
Performance improvements (thanks to Jann Horn)
Further performance improvements due to conditional parsing of IO data depending on selected fields.
Meilleure stabilité des couleurs.* : that is the obvious improvment.
Increase limit of buffer when tracing a deep nested process tree.
Display pagefault stats.
BUGFIX: Fix crash when adding meters and toggling detailed CPU time. (thanks to Dawid Gajownik)
Add column to track the OOM-killer score of processes

Htop is the TOOL, for people worried about their computer performance. The colors are defined in usr/share/applications htop.desktop. Perharps that is to be changed by our technicians.

*Better consistency in coloring

In your pet, no settings only exec=htop. Parse it, i think that's the missing thing.
