NWP, The Nooby Word Processor, added to word processing and related.

some background from here:
Puppus Dogfellow wrote:http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=79573

nooby
PostPosted: Sat 31 May 2014, 12:11 Post subject: [Note] I want to be bold with a small text editor.
For many months now I have tried to find a small text editor
that can do something like this without me needing html code
by hand?
<b> Bold</b> to actual do the manual edit.Bold
I had hoped that Geany could if I just get an easy instruction
and maybe it can but I don't know how to do it.

I guess Abiword should be able to but fail to get how one does it there too.
found it, nooby. third and fourth posts of that thread.

NWP (the nooby word processor)

the above zipped folder is miriam's bold script plus several others made from it: italics, superscript, subscript, underline, strike through, small, large...i think that's it. they work best when dragged to a panel or the desktop. i included some icons i just made, but they're fairly lame.

tested in geany, xpad, and leafpad.

(Nooby's word processor is a wrapper around a text processor. it works well despite being thrown together by a noob. geany can export as html, and google drive, for example, can convert that into an actual word processing file. text processors are extremely reliable from what i've seen...and geany's got its own file tree view, tabs, and pull down menu...)
thanks for the inspiration, nooby (and the code, miriam). it's something i've wondered about myself, "why can't i just use the text editor for word processing..."

wonder if it's possible to get it to export to rtf or something like that...

the required xdotools.pet is included in the 47kb download.
[forgot that part of the forum isn't open access. that was one of nooby's last posts. maybe it can be of use to someone/someone can make it useful. think i'll eventually make a four panel frame for it and some icons that are less lame. when i figure out what's reasonable to ask of this project, i'll make a request at another part of this boardfor a pop up toolbar to be made from those eight scripts and/or ask for whatever additional functionality/toolbars the community can come up with. perhaps a button each for export to pdf, odt, rtf, etc.]

{any progress will be updated here and noted in its concurrent stratum}

[scripts (comments and credits, really) are a now a little neater and the the icons slightly less horrible]

Hy!
, what a wonderful repo!

any chance for i686 builds of "2.1"-type(=laterpup,strippedofdebug) wine? i guess most of us are on laterthanP III cpu-s, but having problems without pae because of low ram. i can convert it to sfs so 'm fine with pet as well

btw, whats the diff between the w1734.sfs (and other, always similarly named) in the parent dir, vs the various other pets in the subdir?

i generally try to take whatever version2013 makes as far as most recent wine and mirror it for community use. for personal use or for use in remasters, i make an .sfs file out of the smaller racy (version 2/geared for more modern) pets and the extras (menu entries and other files). maybe i'm misunderstanding you, but that w1734.sfs is already what you're asking about. unless you have an older, four series pup, you should use a version 2. i use the 2.1 for the sfs simply because it's half the size of the 2.2. anyway, thanks and let me know if i've missed your point. the l0wt3ch wine pet below is grouped with audio ,etc as well as wine, etc because it has real time enabled (which the linked thread goes into a little more detail about) (it's also there because copies don't count against the google drive quota).

i keep two folders of close releases because i find it easier to delete the older as i'm uploading its replacement that way. :? something like that--the parts that come mainly from technosaurus (wine extras, wine environment (this one's from Argolance, i believe--i may be using 1.1...), and wine menu) don't change...

thanks for the answer, and yes, that was one of my question, that what is that sfs out there. but this was just an aside for me, what i meant is that i saw that only i486 builds are there, and that you usually build them as pets, and while i'd normally prefer an sfs, i can make do with em as well so if not just for an oneoff 'release' just for me, i guessed it'd make more sense to provide that one as well in pet format, like the rest(*). but now its all irrelevant, that i know that they are only rehosts. (very useful at that, i might add, im a very happy user of your repo, thx 4 it!)

*: it is significant, however, that i didnt know that it is not you who are making them, i totally didnt know about him and his thread.

oh, and not that it'd'v helped, anyway, i had an older wine sfs lying around, compiled for 686 and it didnt help either, app is crap too, it seems, so whatever. nvm! greetings from a grateful user

p.s.: so no, in the end; i wasnt asking for an sfs, but for a different-cpu compilation, in either form, preferring sfs but trying to tell im fine with the another if u the other way around

tx!
(incidentally, its his .19 release i was referring to, i knew and used his stuff previously, before finding your much more recent repo and switching over, these wines u providing are much better, less bugs etc, due to their laterness)
