[SOLVED] Netgear WNA1000M adapter not detected

#1 Post by ajprok »

Hi,

I recently installed Slacko-Puppy-Linux-Non-PAE-5.7.0 on my old Pentium 4 pc. I have a Netgear N150 Wireless USB Micro Adapter (Model# WNA1000M).

Was trying to setup networking but my adapter is not getting detected by Puppy.

The lsusb command shows:
Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0846:9041 NetGear, Inc.

Please guide.

Thanks

Hi...

Welcome to the forums :)

I found information concerning your chipset here. Strange, I would think the driver for your adapter would be included in your version. How did you go about setting up your adapter? Which network manager did you use?

By any chance, does anything show for...

Code: Select all

iwconfig
There is also another thread concerning your chipset here. One option that would most likely work is replacing your version of Slacko with Lucid 5.2.8 and installing the appropriate driver .pet as discussed by tempestuous in the thread. :)

EDIT: There is additional information for Slacko 5.3 and racy 5.3 here...

Hi Ardvark,

Thank you for your prompt response.

Will check out your links and get back.

iwconfig shows no wireless extensions.

Just updating this post. I installed the PAE version of Slacko Puppy Linux, and its working great.
