Hi...

Can I share something with you? Any inability to understand how to work on a computer has nothing to do with your worth and value as a human being. To begin with, we are all created with different skills and abilities. As an example, not everyone can understand quantum physics or work with tools that are a part of that field. I can't and honestly, I think it would bore me. Anything math related does.

God has given you certain gifts and abilities and just because you don't happen to be good at one particular thing or another doesn't make you less of a human being. :)

Regards...

If there is a God which I doubt very much he had forgotten
to give me talent for any skill. Maybe I am good at
making complain but that is not a needed thing,

While we have God as one of many topics. Due to me derailing
my own threads I have decided to start a new forum thread
for my views on God.
So I try to link to that thread now and then when I note I derail again.
Link to the new thread.

Those two that fail are Acer both of them. D250 and D255.
You need to realise that Puppy Lucid and its 2.6.33.2 kernel are quite old, and lack support for a significant range of modern hardware.
But I posted updated drivers for Lucid 5.1/5.2.x here -
http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=59000

and the driver you need is atl1e from the second page of that forum thread -

This driver will certainly support the ethernet interface of your D250, and probably also the D255.

Thanks,
but I feel rather confident that the driver on Acer D250
did work just a few weeks ago but I do have an old memory,
I should take a new look at it then thanks for telling me about this driver

Don't overthink it.
Install the atl1e driver dotpet.
Reboot.
Run the (full) Network Wizard, selecting Auto DHCP. Hopefully you will get a successful connection straight away.

Total time invested: 1 or 2 minutes.

Hi...

Cut and paste from the code I included above. You misspelled the command. It's "dmesg"
No need for that now when it works
