How to download and save audio from Internet? (Solved)

#1 Post by Les Kerf »

How can I download and save to my hard drive (for future listening) audio? Specifically, sermons from:

http://www.church-of-god-online.com/pg.audio.html

I have searched the forums and found plenty of info on streaming radio, but I can't figure out how to save this type of audio. It does play just fine, but my internet here has limited data.

Running from a live CD (multi-session)
Precise 5.7.1
Acer Aspire 7741Z-4643 laptop
Intel Pentium P6100 processor
3 GB DDR3 ram

Thanks,
Les

What format is the audio streamed? Is it available as an mp3 file like a podcast?

I do not know what format it is; how might I find this information?

EDIT: I found that it is an mp3 format.

I would be happy with a command line script or whatever. I just don't know where to begin.
Thanks,
Les

If you right-click on the download button on the website, can you choose "Save as"?

It looks like the text link on the left is a direct link to the mp3, at least on the page I looked at. Right click and then choose save link as (or similar).

Success! :D

That did it, so simple. Right click, Save Link Target as...
then choose which directory to save it.

Thanks for the help,
Les
