so what they waited until security people in a fight with shim loaders in the linux kernel development got to gain a foot hold. You could see this coming months ago. But MOX keys still exists as a option. So not as horrible as expected. We do need to band together and pony up the 90 dollars to get a signing key for the puppylinux world from offical blessed sources..
Of Course check if your OEM win 8 machine can run In disabled secure mode.. Mine does and bios compatibility mode.. so not going to adversely affect me.
Not sure if win8 even boots on this machine anymore..

My motto with software has always been If you like it buy it don't use cracks or keygens ( Windows).
With Open source software If you use it and like it , Show your support and donate a few bux to the developers.
Eg.
Love It, Use it, Donated to it.

Currently no need to get our own signing key as long as RedHat and Ubuntu keep up the signed shims the rest of us borrow.. But I believe that is why the Microsoft change is happening they expect to be able to control the likes of RedHat and Ubuntu at the basic greed level both have money making reasons for being big players in linux world. Google and Amazon have already locked the doors after using and supporting open source and linux to there own money making ends.
