Package autopoint needs to be added to the devx.
This is part of gettext but looks like Debian have split it off as a separate package.

Tried compiling DeaDBeeF from git but autogen.sh would not run. Added autopoint from packages.debian.org and it fixed this. I was using 3.5.2.7 but I think 3.5.2.11 is the same.

Performed some "dangerous" things with several sata and ata drives the other day in wheezy, partitioning, swopping, formatting and transfer from one to another.

Any users who will be performing those tasks will be pleased to know that Gparted in this version is utterly reliable Smile

PostPosted: Sun 16 Feb 2014, 20:04    Post_subject: Figaro's PassWord Manager 2

I think something is wrong with the version of Figaro's PassWord Manager 2 (version 0.75) that is included in Dpup Wheezy .
When I tried to import my passwords, FPWM2 could not "see" the USB flashdrive, even though it was mounted.
After I copied the passwords file to my /home, FPWM2 could see the file, but every time I tried to import the passwords, FPWM2 crashed and closed.
The solution is easy: I installed the latest version (version 0.79) from the Carolina PET's.
Then all is working fine.

Cheers for Viewnoir Oscartalks, I miss that from ye olde three headed dog.

I accidently found that you can actually crop a pic in viewnoir and save.
Fantastically fabulous.

To run Pavrecord in Dpup Wheezy (3.5.2.11) I need to add the package libav-tools

Pavrecord depends on ffplay which is a symlink to avplay and both are in this package. I wonder if libav-tools should be included in any future releases?

I managed to compile a build of Audacity 2.0.5 in Dpup Wheezy. It is the latest release and much newer and smaller in size than the package offered by the Debian repos. I added libFLAC++ to enable FLAC support (without this the configure script just disables it automatically at build time). Import and export via ffmpeg is also enabled as well as mp3 export via lame. If anyone wants to give it a try you can download it from here:-

I compiled the latest JACK packages in Dpup Wheezy. They are jack-audio-connection-kit-0.124.1 and qjackctl-0.3.11 ( http://qjackctl.sourceforge.net )

Never used it myself but some people say it is very useful.

Firefox is running very slowly for me, so I removed it. I have an ancient pentium 2 with only 256 mb of ram. How do I change the default browser to opera or seamonkey?

@NoAlternative

The Puppy Package Manager (PPM) would be a safe recommended route to use for your PUP.

But, depending on which PUP distro you're using you may be butting up against your PC's RAM ceiling. Thus to continue with this older PC, you may have to switch to an early version of Puppy Linux for the performance you desire on it.

Hope this helps

Opera and Seamoney are running really fast on this machine. I just want to make one of them the default browser.

First thing to try is: Menu>Setup>Default Applications Chooser
