CUPS default has changed to letter

#1 Post by joerice50 »

Hi All
After printing successfully for some weeks CUPS has set the default to letter and I live in Europe and want the default to be A4

My printer:
Dell 3130cn Color Laser
Location: Local Printer
Driver: Dell 3130cn Color Laser v3017.104 PS (color, 2-sided printing)
Connection: usb://Dell/3130cn%20Color%20Laser
Defaults: job-sheets=none, none media=na_letter_8.5x11in sides=one-sided

CUPS Paper type is set to take settings from the printer and although it prints to A4 from windows OS when I switch to Fatdog OS the settings get overridden and the printer calls for the loading of letter size paper.

Media Handling
MPF Orientation:
Collate: OffOn
Paper Type (MPF):
Feed Separators from:
Print on Separators: Blank SeparatorsPrinted Separators
Substitute Tray:
Custom Paper Auto Orientation: OffOn

How can I get it to print to A4 paper

Cheers

In CUPS, open the Printers tab and select your model.

Open the Administration list and select Set Default Options.

Look under the General tab for Media Size. Set your A4 paper there.

Also look in /etc/cups for a file named lpoptions. If you accidentally created one, delete it.
