1. Swapped in new 24 inch monitor.
Includes an HDMI connection. [Chose a model that included this]
Does it have speakers?
Precise-5.6.1 auto-adjusted screen size to 1920x1080.
Re-positioned icons for partitions.
Re-sized Firefox windows to fill screen.
Saved changes.
2. Various stuff looks fine.
e.g. Videos at YouTube, and still images.
3. PROBLEM:
Some stuff looks rather pale/faded.
e.g. Firefox window [at Puppy Linux Forums, and others].
Is that only to be expected?
4. Some links to webpages:
a. BENQ site for the monitor
b. Manual download page
c. Online manual
5. Is there a technique for adjusting the image [brightness & contrast?].
Or aught I to leave well alone?

Not yet...Flash wrote:Have you tried fiddling with the monitor's buttons to adjust its brightness, contrast etc.?
I'm playing it safe for the time being.
Trying to gather info from those who know about such things.
Like I said...
Perhaps it would be best to leave well alone.
I don't know.
There may be no problem, and I go and create one.
I remember reading about a method of good adjustment, but my recollection is poor.
Something like:
You turn the brightness down until it's difficult to see an image...
Then you turn up the contrast until you CAN see an image...
Then you turn up the brightness until it looks good.
Did I get that right?
