I'm having an issue with my 700m where it doesn't wake from suspend properly. It is configured to go into suspend when the lid closes. When I open it back up, it comes out of suspend, and then goes back into suspend, requiring me to hit the power button. Is there a fix for this?

Alternatively, can someone tell me how to change the power button into a suspend toggle button?

Pemasu - a huge thank you !!!!! I just had my laptop power off due to flat battery (I forgot to turn on the charger...) and for the first time EVER I found that when I plugged it in and turned it back on it IMMEDIATELY came back up in exactly the same state as before it powered off !!!!! I lost nothing!!

All of my other puppies fail to have this recovery from power loss. - once the battery goes flat I am up for a full reboot, fsck and internet reconnection, but with Upup my laptop seems to have known that a poweroff was imminent and I guess it went into hibernate or something. Anyway, I am very grateful for the power handling you have built into Upup because it just saved me a lot of time.

Didn't even lose the internet connection!!

Recently put a 64gb SSD (actual capacity 60gb ) in my ASUS 1000HEB netbook, and plunked Upup Raring on it.

I did notice the equivalent of a Windows "Standby" mode -- shut the lid and it enters a low power mode until a keypress happens -- but I didn't know about the rest of it. IIRC that's kernel level stuff but I'm not sure...

Yeah. There are scripts for laptop lid close for performing suspend to ram and also Vattery listens the battery state. If you right click that battery icon in tray ----> Preferences, you can even change the default behavior. Suspending or shutting down or whatever. You just need to have runnable script which you type to be performed....or change the laptop battery percentage stage when the action will be performed.

Nice that people find those laptop goodies. They have been in my builds all the time. Heh.

It is two stage mechanism. First you need to compile kernel with acpi support ( All Puppy kernels have it) and then you have to provide binaries and scripts to utilize the acpi support like suspending to ram or even hibernating to the disk.

I just tried out Raring 3.9.9.2, but it still has the non-US keyboard bug.
I use Belgian keyboard (Be-Latin), and it works as it should in Abiword and Leafpad, but when I use Seamonkey, it's suddenly US keyboard.
I'm using a Pentium 4, 2.8 Ghz, with NVidia graphics card.

With Firefox, Geany, and Gnumeric, there are no problems: all have Belgian keyboard.
Maybe the problem lies just with Seamonkey?
By the way: great pup again!

GWP does not save the value when one changes the name of the wallpaper(background graphic)....When selecting the graphic the background changes, but the value is not saved when the system is rebooted.

Running Raring 3992 on a bootable USB.

Pulled an old Windows box off the shelf to use as another Linux box and in preparation for some minor upgrades (bigger hdd and more ram) decided to quickly install Raring as a hardware check.Full install of Raring 3.9.9.2.No troubles yet.

A 10 year old USB flash drive going bad. Bad memory section.

New Frugal install of UpupRaring 3,9,9,2 to HDD working fine.
At least this 9 year old HDD seems to still be working OK.

Remove any plastic parts from the stick then bake it in a preheated 450degrees fahrenheit oven for 8 minutes. I don't know if it will restore your particular type of flash drive but it works like a charm on HP jetdirect boards and LJ3005 formatter boards.

Worth a try if there is important info on the stick that you want to recover...
