#1 Post by boof »

My screen is subject to glare, and I need a brighter cursor to be able to see it. How to, pls.

Years ago forum member Pizzasgood posted a link to a package of cursor themes. Unfortunately, he's no longer active in the forum and the link is no longer any good. I don't know if anyone put that package anywhere else. You still may be able to go to the X11 mouse themes link in his post and find a cursor you like. The Whitelarge cursor is big and easy to see.

thx, I found a cursor I like [ycDMZ], but am lost how to install it.
Seems to need to edit fontpath, but have no ideas beyond that. Placed cursors folder in /usr/share/X11/Fonts, read but not understand Readme file there. Just a report on what's been done to the files, not a how to change things-but I guess that's ok.

Suspect it may be hard, as the notes indicate written in local cursor coding elsewhere in programs rather than global coding?

I'm using Slacko 5.6

Did you bother to read Pizzasgood's post? He tells how to install the cursor.

Try sticking the extracted contents of the attachment in /root .. nice fat cursor et all.
Should end up as /root/.icons/blah...a hidden folder

its what I use in puppy

Have you tried to use the options in menu->Desktop->Pcur cursor selector?
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected
YaPI(any iso installer)

Yes, I think if you put the new cursor folder in /root/.icons, Pcur cursor selector can see the new cursor if it is the right kind of files.
