Puppy version: 5.7.1 LTS, burned to CD
Computer has an AMD APU A8-3850, the GPU part is as in the subject line.
On boot from the CD, the video craps out, just a nice abstract work of art. And then my monitor says "No Signal", I am dead in the water. Had to power cycle the PC to restart.
Any advice would be appreciated. My goal is to install Puppy onto a flash drive.
TIA,

Puppy 571 + AMD Radeon HD 6550D = no video
Try this:
At the boot screen hit F2.
Add the command
puppy pfix=ram radeon.modeset=0
You can also try this:
At the boot screen hit F2.
Add the command
puppy pfix=nox
This will get you to a prompt.
Type xorgwizard at the prompt.
Select the vesa driver.
set resolution.
run test to see if it works.
finish xorgwizard.
back at prompt.
Type xwin
should see desktop.
If one of these works, you need to look for a AMD/ATI graphics driver, in Puppy Package Manager, that works better for your hardware.
The Vesa driver is a generic driver for all hardware, but it is a basic driver and limited on what it can do.

The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
