JWM Panel Disappears in Precise-5.6.1[SOLVED]

I'm sure this question has been asked many times before, but, I find no joy in searching for an answer.

The JWM panel disappeared while I was attempting to put a launch button on the panel.

I've tried *Restarting JWM* and *Rebooting*, no joy.

How can I retrieve the JWM panel?

You could try copying /root/.jwmrc-tray-bak to /root/.jwmrc-tray

If that doesn't work, and assuming you are running a frugal install,
you could use a copy of /initrd/pup_ro2/root/.jwmrc-tray

Don't forget to Restart JWM

OK, but is it using a savefile
because in your first post you said this:

and surely a reboot would have fixed it if running without a savefile.

OK, i thought that was probably the case.

With regard to getting 'original' copies of files from /initrd/pup_ro2/
you may find this snippet, taken from: http://www.puppylinux.com/development/howpuppyworks.html
enlightening:

The first time that you plug in the live-CD and bootup, there is no persistent storage, and the "union" consists of only two layers, the top "working files" and the pup_xxx.sfs squashfs filesystem that has all the Puppy files. These two layers appear overlaid at "/", however they can be viewed individually, at their respective mount points. The tmpfs ramdisk is mounted read-write on /initrd/pup_rw and pup_xxx.sfs is mounted read-only on /initrd/pup_ro2.

So, whether you are using a savefile or not,
you could grab copies from there.

The sequence of events that lead to the panel disappearing went something like this:

I booted a Live CD of Precise Puppy 5.6.1 that I burned fresh 7-15-13 from Puppy download site.
I customized various parts of the OS, for example the background, preferences in Seamonkey, font choices and so on.

I *rebooted* and created a *savefile*.

The rebooted OS (which was the second load of the Live CD) is when I attempted to add a launch button to the JWM panel. Somewhere, somehow I must have punched up three lemons and the panel disappeared. I can't recall what I did.

Does any of this make sense?

PS -
The reason I am tinkering with Precise Puppy is that I have an 8 year old coming over to my place tomorrow to try out a Puppy. His M$ OS isn't handling Adobe Flash well. He has online school lessons that requires Flash.
I noticed that Shinobar has come out with a new *GetFlash* as of this week.
I've tried it and it works well so far.
The Abobe Flash people apparently have had all kinds of trouble this week with being hacked and source code taken.

I'm a little intimidated, not with the Adobe Flash situation but with the 8 year old!
