here is my 1st post, im a quasi-noob in unix & puppy, but i've tried to make sfs-es.
method was learned from google search of puppy pages and this forum: using dir2sfs command, after extracting with xarchive from downloaded ubuntu precise i386 debs, as a kind-of 'manual deb2sfs'. (there is an pet2sfs as well).
but there are an awful lot of errors with the g.cmdr package (even if installed into savefile from ppm so hopefully not my bad), despite second time took care of also extracting symlinks. it didnt even work on a same version puppy at a different machine. so some expert might find what's wrong w em, nevertheless they r here to try.
so after a while i found d.c., and its much better!! mmore similar to tc (wi*dows),just a bit slow. recommended file manager!
dc has no deps, gc i combined the ones apparently needed and left out ones it would start without; marked in filename
also manually trimmed language packs so saved ca 40% of size or so (dc was 9 mb now 6, gc's also 1-2 more). a
off: had to fake-rename "*.zip" the files, as disagreeably sfs & xz, txz are not amongst "Allowed Extensions and Sizes"!

btw, i recommend using (after manually pinning it to desktop) the gc icon with the dc, looks more tc-ish, file-manager-ish
