put devx_210.sfs in / (where /bin, /dev, /etc, /lib, /mnt etc etc etc are)
then reboot
if you want to compile a kernel module, you may have to use Puppy 2.0.2 ... see:
http://www.puppyos.com/development/compilekernel.htm

not installed....
i have copy the file devx_210.sfs to /,i have reboot the pc but the compiler is not installed...
i have also rename this file from devx_210.sfs to usr_devx.sfs,but the compiler is not installed....
why?

no, forget it.
We got several reports, that devx_210.sfs is not automatically mounted in a full harddrive installation.
Instead you would have to copy all files to the harddisk after mounting it manually.
But just forget it, because even if you solve that, you can not compile kernel-modules with it due to a compiler conflict.
This will be solved in future versions of Puppy.
Meanwhile, we use a workaround:
use a 2.02 Live-CD.
http://ftp.nluug.nl/ftp/pub/os/Linux/distr/puppylinux/
And use this developer-file:
http://htb65.de/puppylinux/puppy-releas ... velopment/
Boot from the 2.02-CD.
Reboot, so that a pup_save.3fs is created.
Put the devx-qt-renamed_202.sfs in the same folder, where pup_save.3fs was created, that usually is /mnt/home
Reboot to automatically mount it.
Type
gcc
If you get:
gcc: no input files
then everything is ok.

this method does not work...
this method does not work...i have also rename the file devx-qt_renamed_202.sfs as usr_devx.sfs,
but at the boot puppy cannot mount it.
i cannot use my modem...why do not create a hsf dotpup driver for puppy 2.x?
i have installed this driver from dotpup but does not work with current version of puppy.

This Kernel-problem is temporary.
New drivers will be compiled for the next Puppy 2.11.
A workaround for users who depend on those drivers is regression 2:
http://www.murga.org/~puppy/viewtopic.php?t=10315
But this might be no solution for you using a full harddisk-installation

tempestous is planning to create new dotpups, when we have the new Kernel, which is planned to be used in Puppy 2.11.
I can't promise anything, as it depends on how things work out, but at least these are the plans as far as I know.
Puppy 2 was intruducing several new things, and we had to find out, that not everything worked as expected, so we hope with 2.11 we can release a Puppy that will use a "final" kernel for a long period.
Such a Kernel would be worth of recompiling all those modules, that currently are not available, as this is quite some work.
