Packages Installation Issue

#1 Post by Delinet »

Hi, I'm newbie with PuppyLinux ant I'm trying to install new packages ( bash and emacs ).
I use for this Puppy Package Manager. I received ok message after installation process was done but I can't find anything in the Menu or Subcategory about the new packages.

What is wrong ? How I can solve the issue and install bash and emacs ?

Thank's

bash won't give a menu entry . A terminal emulator like rxvt would be able to run from menu .

emacs have no dice until now, it is a big package it seems .

Look into /root/.packages hidden directory for a *bash* and *emacs* .files file .

Tks Karl Godt.

I find file(s) in .packages but how I can execute ( run applications ) them ?

How I can use bash or emacs ? I clicked ( one or twice ) on files icon(s) - in usr/bin - but don't work.

Sorry for this "newbie" issue

Tks
