At least it seems that e_xkb.c or .h does not have the US keyboard as a fallback compiled in by default, probably it is in compiled into some /root/.e/e/*/*.cfg file(s) .
Older Xorg had some files in /var/lib/xkb/directory but e17 seems not to look into there nor /etc/X11/xorg.conf .

Macpup: Better and better!

Very nice work, fellas. I use an old machine, almost 10 years old, and this one makes it relatively painless, to my great joy and relief. It goes without saying how wonderfully snazzy it looks, too...All the best!

Yes, seems like the pond-scum fraternity might be active, but who knows? I was able to d/l several themes yesterday, following CatDude's link - thanks 'Dude! - and had no trouble with the forum, but today, the forum's page informed me that i'd been banned! Maybe i'm a tad 'special' too, Rok..?

Talked to Prit again he has things back to normal !!!!! We are back in business. He said we did not get hacked. The problems where caused by server upgrades. So we can put the torches and pitch forks , tar and feathers away.....They really picked the best time to do this!!!!!

That amount of new releases each day : No chance to be No 1 .
Wondering why Lighthouse is not mentioned at distrowatch Top 100 . Think I saw Fatdog there once ..

BTW : svn.enlightenment.org is switching to git.enlightenment.org :(

Leave the git stuff alone , it is very unstable.

LOL at least we have the language part right......

language and wifi :
As the keyboard is not changed to azerty, i tried first to correct that via the wizard. And i succeed.
After, checking the macpup posts in Puppy Forum, I read the solutions.
After... It would be fine to get at start up an Abiword file which opens and tells you all that stuff. Easy to do, no ?

Frisbee should be the best to keep the connection data after reboot. Ok, we shall do that.

E17 is fine. MacPup529 ended by black screen. Macpup 550 runs well.
Fonts in Firefox are too small, which change did i missed ?

Macpup in the past was often better than the original ! but E17 needs to offer more choices for desktop. It's always the same (nearly)

I copied from applications Abiword to root/ desktop, unsucessfully. In fact, you just have to draw icon on the desktop itself, and the matter is closed.

MacPup is a pretty distro, in spite of my remarks !

Firefox : fonts changed to 18 but nothing happens. MTpaint on the desktop is dark on dark. Change this ugly icon, pleaaaase. Colored pencils icon is prettier.

You're not stuck with the default Macpup layout, e17 can do almost anything. Look over the e17 guide first.

I can't include everything in a pre-installed note because there are thing we don't find until after its released. What I can do is start a thread on our forum and include a link to it in the "help" page so a new user would have direct access to the latest info about the release. That's the idea at this point......

Pelo

we shall look the E17 guide

But hum... my english is not too bad,
le jargon informatique me dépasse (software jargon in english is not 'my cup of tea')
However, i shall try. After all, perhaps things are not so hard as i think.

macpup 550 is great in looks.
But i don't know why HTOP shows me that the CPU usage is >70% with no big app running.CPU is heated heavily.
even when i just logged in and i know that there is hardly any heavy process
running.
My chip's gonna fry.
I run the live-usb version.
Am afraid of installing full in to my box.
My cpu is Intel core2duo T6650 1.83 gigz.
is there any problem with this cpu and macpup kernel.
Why is that?

The only time I have ever seen usage that high was because of an extra module being loaded. But just stock it shouldn't. Do a md5sum on your .iso to be sure. Try using the cpu scaling tool.

No No!I got it fixed.
Macpup's an absolute fine stuff.
Zigbert's Pmusic was eating my cpu everytime.
i killed it.
everything was fine.
i don't know why Pmusic never runs well.
I can't drag any playin' song to the last position.then it behaves erratic.
zigberts must show us some light.
sorry,runtt21!
