Manual frugal to ext2 SDcard, booting with grubb4dos, running on E732 laptop.
Very quick test - and all so far seems good.
ntfs read / write works. Did a copy / move / delete of random files.
All the basics seem to work as expected OTB. No obvious issues.

been using this for the last 5ish hours with no issues or unexpected surprises - looks and feels very good.
Loaded thunar - lots of general file twiddleing - SeaMonkey good on all usual sites and a few not so usual ones - all good.
Did a few installs to USB drives and sticks - all good.
Overall - from a casual user viewpoint - all good - very fast / responsive.
Luvly puppy.
Next job - try on 10yr old Acer laptop and report.

posting from Precice 5.7.1 test now - using the 10yr old Acer laptop. Very nice - considering the limited spec.
This puppy has one of the most intuitive setup procedures around - it walks you thru what needs to be done nicely.
Can’t go wrong - excellent.

Above is long discussion about ntfs-3g behavior concerning win8 ntfs partition.
It seems there is debate if the recent ntfs-3g version behavior is bug or not.

Everything seems fine so far except when running pmusic as user spot
it won't shut down, you have to restart x to quit pmusic.
Pmusic shuts down properly when running as root.
EDIT:peasy_dvd_player-1.1.pet works great.
EDIT: I couldn't download VLC until I updated ppm, then it downloaded
the latest version which was a surprise
The problem with running Pmusic as user spot doesn't end with
restarting x, stream ripper keeps ripping even after doing that even
though Pmusic is no longer running.
