Samsung CLP-315 printing columns as an error

#1 Post by Andym1 »

Using puppy precise 5.6 using pet samsung_cms-3.00.71 and samsung_CLP_320-1.1.0
when printing the machine produces a column layout instead of a complete page. The columns are duplicates of the text, and there are gaps/breaks in the printing.

Thanks for any replies

Please state where you found these PETs.

These PETS were got from somewhere on the forum. Quite a while ago and installed by my pal Topaz who has been helping me.

Looking forward to hearing from you

Your source for information about printing is here.

It will take you to the Samsung thread here.

There are two choices for your CLP-315.

1. The official Samsung drivers samsung_print-4.01.17.pet and samsung_cms-4.01.17.pet.

2. The alternate foo2xxx driver. It is known to work with a CLP-315, but #1 may give you better results.

Please report back.

Excellent. But if all you have printed so far is a CUPS test page, then you need to print something from an application. That is the true test of the driver.

Print a web page from your browser. How good is the colour rendering?

Hi,
just printed a page of butterflies and the colour seems first class. good density and crisp edges. visually satisfactory.

Cheers
