Remote Desktop support within Chromium

#1 Post by m1bxd »

Are there any know reasons why "Remote Desktop" will not allow "share"?

I cannot find any Puppy derivative and I've tried a few that allow the "Share" facility
I wish I could get Chrome remote desktop to work on Chromium browser in Puppy.

Is it something to do with root etc

Whilst I understand the "pure" about Google and open source. The remote desktop within Chrome makes supporting people a lot easier.

I live in Totnes which is a Transition Town and I am always trying to support computer recycling. And this facility would be gold.

hmm - sorry but I think that's even more complex for end-users to install.

But I'll have a look, Ill have a go at an install myself.

Plus it's an even more commercial situation than using Google code....

Can't that going down well round here

Are you just trying to access Windows Remote Desktop using Puppy as a client?

Regular rdesktop works on Puppy.

err no.

You run Chrome on Puppy -> Remote Desktop

and in theory you press the "Share" button and it give you an ID/KEY

You give this to a friend and they can control your Puppy with Chrome likewise.

Except on Puppy the "Share" button is greyed out.

rdesktop with require port forwarding somewhere.

Chrome Remote Desktop doesn't and is practically zero knowledge for Windows users new to Puppy who need bailing out.
