Icewm Menu for Puppy 1.0.4
some menu items in the menu won't work because they are not actually installed
there may be errors in the menu
your old menu should be backed up to menu-104.BAK (that is, it was saved by Puppy 1.0.4)

i uploaded a new version of Dillo 8.5 patched
i changed the name of the config file to dillorc85p
i think dillocfg should work properly with dillo85p
and i put Configure Dillo in the context menu (when you right click the Dillo icon)

unrpm with standard rpm2cpio, for extracting rpm files |
|
unrpm with standard rpm2cpio
this uses the standard rpm2cpio binary instead of Busybox
the Busybox rpm2cpio sometimes does not work, giving an error message about wrong magic
basically, to extract the files in an rpm file,
type unrpm file.rpm
if you move the rpm file to an empty dir first,
it's easier to see what files were extracted
the undeb/unrpm package does not need to be uninstalled first
if the undeb/unrpm package is installed later, it will overwrite this package, and unrpm will use Busybox again
[edit: ver 0.0.2 - added a missing symlink]

my Puppy (1.0.4) has:
# ls /usr/lib/libbz2*
/usr/lib/libbz2.so
/usr/lib/libbz2.so.1
/usr/lib/libbz2.so.1.0.0
i don't get any errors using my unrpm program:

i think Puppy is missing a symlink to libbz2.so.1.0
so i added a symlink to my unrpm-full dotpup package and uploaded it again ... ver 0.0.2 should work

Spacereplace version 1.1 |
|
Spacereplace.pup by Bruce B July 25, 2005
Spacereplace version 1.1 updated also on July 25, 2005
Homepage: http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/tools/15601.html
Many Linux programs don't use spaces in file names very well. Sometimes we
receive files from Windows users that have spaces in them. This command line
utility replaces spaces in filenames with underscores.
-----------------------
Spacereplace.pup installs these files:
/root/my-applications/bin/spacereplace (script file)
/root/my-applications/bin/rename (binary file)
/root/my-documents/spacereplaceREADME.txt (text file)
No other changes made.
-----------------------
Help for spacereplace
spacereplace version 1.0.1 - written by Richard van Kampen
Tool to substitute spaces in file and directory names with underscores.
Usage: spacereplace [option] [PATH]
List of options:
-h or --help : show help.
-r : recursive. Also commit changes to all sub-directories.
You have to specify the path to the directory you want to process. Not
specifying a path will just display help
Example: 'spacereplace -r /home/richard/mp3' changes all spaces to
underscores in /home/richard/mp3 and all directories below /home/richard/mp3.
---------------------
TIP by Bruce
If you cd to the directory you want to process you can enter this command:
# spacereplace .
To recurse the subdirectories:
# spacerplace -r .
Enjoy!

Yes I tried adding this then downloading the package for Inscape but still not got inkscape (could not get the package to unzip this time)
What is the procedure - I really like Inkscape

i've got inkscape on my (ever increasing) to-do list
i downloaded the static i386 rpm
http://www.inkscape.org/download.php
unrpm'ed it
moved the inkscape and inkview binaries to my-applications/bin
and symlinked usr/share/inkscape to /usr/share/inkscape
(drag the usr/share/inkscape folder in the extracted inkscape files with the middle mouse button to /usr/share, and click Link)
if you have libgc installed, it should run
pic of inkscape 0.42 running in Puppy:
