How to use Medialink USB wireless adapter?

#1 Post by heisenberg »

I have a Medialink Wireless-N USB 2.0 Adapter and im wondering if its possible to use Wine on Puppy Linux for it to work. If not then what are some good wireless adapters that will work with Puppy Linux.

Which Puppy(s) did you try?

I've had good luck with the driver package in 5.28 on a wide variety of wireless (and modems).

In 5.2.8's Simple Network Setup, you also get the option to use a Windows wireless driver, if you run puppy on top of a Windows installation. It may be the case with other puppys too, but I haven't looked.

True freedom is a live Puppy on a multisession CD/DVD.

In my case, I copied the windows wireless files including the .inf file to a folder in puppy.
I then used ndiswrapper and pointed to the .inf file for the windows driver.
It worked fine for me.
