AbiWord Spell Checker (a brief howto)

#1 Post by Bruce B »

I thought I'd document for others how I got AbiWord spell checker working for me. It was pretty simple, but not intuitive.

I downloaded the AU dictionary from:

http://www.abiword.com/download/abispell.phtml

I then extracted the british.hash and british.hash.encoding files to the
/root/.AbiSuite/dictionary directory

It worked!

I setup Puppy version 1.0.2 after making the parent post

I tried it your way by putting the dictionary files in:
/usr/local/share/AbiSuite-2.2/dictionary

and it didn't work for me.

Then I put the dictionary files in:

/root/.AbiSuite/dictionary

and it worked for me.
