Is there a "puppy only" glossary?

#1 Post by polekat »

I realize there are many glossaries for linux, but I'm looking for something that gives short ,concise explanations of the different derivatives and Puppy only terms.I understand that the pros that frequent this forum can whip this info off the top of their heads, but for someone new ,like me, it can be overwhelming. Forgive me if one exits and I just couldn't find it.

Hello, polekat.

I don't think there is one available for Puppy per se.

You may try http://talkingpets.ca/en/speakdog.aspx ? :P

Regards. :)

Thanks for the reply,I guess, but I already know how to say " stop licking your crotch!" in dog language. Back to the other puppy glossary, I don't mind volunteering for the project if there was any interest in such a thing. Although I'm sure most here are more qualified.

Hello again, polekat.

Sorry if I was facetious and off-track earlier...

Now for a serious answer.

How about this :
could you list in the next post the terms you find mysterious or
difficult to understand in the PuppyLinux context and
we try to provide definitions or links.

I say "links" because this forum is huge, it's been around since 2006,
I believe, and most likely the answers are already here somewhere.
This thread then could then become a sort of "lexicon" or "vocabulary"
rounding everything up.

Would that work for you?

Best regards.

Hello again, polekat.

A colleague reminded me...

Have you visited : http://puppylinux.org/wikka/HomePage ?
There a lot of info there.

Best regards.
