Parallel port

#1 Post by kj4bnh »

Hi all, I am running Slacko 5.5, in a IBM 600E thinkpad. My issue is I am trying to use the parallel port for a project(using pin 2 and pin 20) and pin 2 is on all the time, can't turn it off. With MS-DOS I have no issues.Something is loading at bootup(I think) to turn this pin on(pin 3 is on also). Can someone point me in the correct direction to disable this activity?
Thanks Jim

It might be the CUPS print server. Try turning it off with "/etc/init.d/cups stop".
