Thanks `f00 and stu90, I'll check as soon as I can.
Actually, I have no idea what you're talking about.
All I know is I want the panel menu to be simpler, without too much submenus. I don't really care if it follows a standard, unless the standard does improve the menu.

Yes, it's the purpose everything is detailed in the thread by other puppy member. Would be great if you can give your point of view and tell us wether it's "safe" or not... A mix of your 2 projects will be great !

Hi Vicmz,
I like how you have configured your tint2 panel, it looks really nice.
To get items to close on right-click add the following to /root/.config/tint2rc :
mouse_right = close
This is under the "MOUSE ACTION ON TASK" category, near the bottom of the tint2rc file. Restart X Server for changes to take effect.

Looks nice, but I'd use only the Openbox and GTK theme, maybe with a tint2 configuration that makes it look like the wdz 8 taskbar? I think someone made a metro-puppy with conky, you can also use that to complete your wdz 8 clone.

It's actually nilsonmorales who configured this Tint2, he's got talent for styles.
I've explored in my free time some tint2rc themes and configs, I liked many transparent setups. The menu is the hard one, I'm a bit stubborn for that. I don't know whether to include a dock, not include it or give one as optional, most versions of wbar won't work (or not properly) for all official releases, or at least for both Slacko and Precise. Anyway, those are details for a future release. Meanwhile, here are more tint2rc files, try and tell:

This is great work, thanks !
How can we get rid of jwm ?
One more step maybe would be to have spacefm or pcmanfm to replace rox.
Personnally I found XFE a perfect replacement but some people told me it was a bit 'complicated' compared to spacefm or pcmanfm. Openbox/pcmanfm is the couple behind Lxde desktop so maybe it would be best choice. I work daily with pcmanfm v1.1.0 at work and got no problem so far, so I think it's stable.
Best regards

Hi vicmz,
PupClockset supports both lxpanel and tint2 in OpenboxPlus.

Hello Radky
I'm in the process of gettexting the latest PupClockset and PupSnap, which I plan to include in the next release. OpenboxPlus is made to be multilingual, so that I don't have to make separate PETs for each language and everyone can enjoy it, not just those of us who speak English. For example, I posted on Taringa! (a social network very popular in the Hispanic world) six days ago about new Puppy Precise, OpenboxPlus, ToOpPy and Puppy-es, and the post made it to the top 10 of the week in the GNU/Linux community. And that's only for Spanish language.

PCManFM is a rogue one, too. I'm testing and can make it work properly but without support for the trash and drive detection, this means I have to use Pmount first then look manually in /mnt to view the content in the drive through PCManFM. I should check both Lxpup and Puppy-es, two excellent derivatives that have full working PCManFM, but I didn't have the time to download those yet.
As for ROX-filer and JWM, I wouldn't "get rid of them", better have them and not need them than need them and not have them.

LOL ok IMHO Rox could be easily replaced by PCManFM or Spacefm because they all can manage the desktop, so JWM wouldn't notice.
About PCManFM, that is not so bad to be this way you did. I have compared a lot with spacefm and it seems to me spacefm is more mature, so maybe you can compare that too. The manual mount of devices or not, it's only a choice. Check the latest Carolina, they have PCManFM with auto-mount that works great.
Best regards

Installing a recompiled imlib2 pet should fix the problem for wbar not working in Slacko... Precise could be having the same issue.
I have compile Wbar in Slacko --> here

Hello Everyone,
I have wbar here http://smokey01.com/Oldyeller/pet_packages-manna/ That should work with no problems in precise, along with other pets that one might want to use.
Cheers

Thank you guys, I'll have in mind your tips and packages.
Meanwhile, I modified desktop-directories so that the menu has the icons of the current theme. You can test this by installing the pet below, but do not uninstall (it'll break the menu).

Don't worry, the menu is in the system language, if you have English as default you'll see everything in English. |
