Saluki discontinued

#1 Post by jymm »

I see from DistroWatch that Saluki has been discontinued and Carolina is a fork of Saluki.

Just wondering about future plans for the Carolina Distro.

What are the plans for Carolina now that Saluki has been discontinued?

Will anyone pick up Saluki now that Jemimah has quit developing it?

Will 0.0.7 still be released? I have the rc and it seems good.

That is why I don't use it. (And because it doesn't include the firmware needed for my wireless device.)

Hi.

I've noticed this already in the beginning of Mai 2013. While doing a search on the web I've found accidentally this information.

So, I moved to smokey01.com to have a look if the files are still available - and, yes: found a lot of files over there. Executed LazY FReD, downloaded the luki-022.iso, luki-023.iso and also the devx_luki_022.sfs which has been the latest version available at smokey01.com. Later I've had a look at the available .pet files for saluki and found a huge number of files. So, executed LazY FReD again and downloaded all the .pet files available.

It did download 925 .pet files, complete size of all files: 1698 MB.

Today, right now, I wanted to post a link to these files, but: surprise, surprise!

The files do seem to disappear (removed?)!

The latest iso to find is now luki-012.iso and the count of available .pet files has been decreased down to 50 files.

@R-S-H: I have heard that the owner of that site (a fellow Puppian whose name does not come to my mind readily) is having space problems with his server. He's asked his users to delete anything they don't need.

Whatever happened to russoodle? IIRC he was one of the few trying to fit in both here and at That Other Forum -- and I haven't seen him here in a very long time. Last I heard *he* had a server with plenty of space, but that was months ago...

 Didn't know that. Apologies.

Heh. Funny how when I don't know someone, I assume (until I hear otherwise) that they're male. A lot of people are like that, I think.

So, where oh where has russoodle gone? Where oh where could she be?

Might have been easier to figure it out if she used sallyoodle instead of russoodle

Her dog's a russell terrier / poodle mix or something, I think.

I hope she's still around, she's a very nice person.
