While reading statements and questions about “Security” I guess you can call me uninformed but to my way of thinking,I don’t know of any “Security”that
some clever hacker can’t get around.I will say that on this forum there has been
Puppy benefactors who have posted threads that may pertain to what you seek.
This thread is “How to (solutions)” > “Remove automatic pupsave for frugal installs, started by jpeps “ I used the one that I re-posted from another user in
Puppy Studio 3.3 K 2.6.33. 2 and it worked a treat.Anything thrown in ram will
be sent to the “bit bucket” if you do not click on “Save” before logout.http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=81911

did you read what he said the fsf?, please read the url that passes.

The idea is to desprenderce of Twisted Evil ubuntu Twisted Evil ; use another base like debian in future releases of puppy (deb in)

I think that continue to use Twisted Evil ubuntu Twisted Evil is to have paid the right to go to hell and not to heaven.
es: creo que seguir usando Twisted Evil ubuntu Twisted Evil es tener pagado el derecho de ir al infierno y no al cielo.

Go to Mint. It's Ubuntu compatible in almost every way imaginable, except that it doesn't have the spyware.

Also Mint ditches the goofy Unity interface and gives you good options, such as Mate, a fork of Gnome 2, KDE, Xfce, and Cinamon, a continuation of Gnome 3.

Been using Mint 13 for half a year as my secondary system to Puppy and I'm very happy with it as an Ubuntu replacement.

I think "fork" is the right word, again. They decided the user interface in Gnome 3 is rubbish so they forked it and made it more "traditional".

The spyware is in the search feature in the Unity desktop environment, when a search is made, it sends the search to a remote server to send ads.

I don't use Ubuntu for this reason, also, it is too slow on my computers.
As long as Unity isn't included, the Puppy should be clean.

I'm not sure if Lucid Puppy just has package compatibility, or if it is based on Ubuntu. (On puppylinux.org, the download page says that Lucid is an Ubuntu compatible build.)
