JWM upgrades, testers across all puppys needed

#1 Post by scsijon »

Apologies for cross-posting, but, I have been working with joe on fixes etc. on the JWM Desktop.

We are at the point that there are no problems now listed in the Problem Database, only Enhancement requests!

I need a decent number of testers for version 704 across as many different puppy's as possible for him before I create a Release version, hopefully on the 24th. Then he knows it's clean before working on the enhancements!

The thread we have been using for jwm is http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=83949 and the relevant pets are attached to the first panel. You may also need micks jwmconfig2-130213 http://mirror.aarnet.edu.au/pub/puppyli ... 130213.pet if you haven't already tested as the jwm2 model I am working with doesn't include configuration files.

thanks
scsijon

For Puppy 4 an upgraded libfribidi seems to be needed .

Atm jwm-590 compiles
but 635 already fails with
font.c:205: Fehler: »FriBidiParType« undeclared (first use in this function)
and libfribidi with
fribidi-run.c:70: error: 'PAGE_SIZE' undeclared (first use in this function)

google found
http://svn.exactcode.de/t2/trunk/packag ... SIZE.patch

will experiment with it later.

Does jwm still create so many zombies as of later 400 series in Lupu ?

Have workedaround that fribidi issue for now by

./configure --disable-fribidi

and

JWM vgit-722 by Joe Wingbermuehle
compiled options: confirm icons png shape xft xinerama xpm xrender
system configuration: /usr/local/etc/system.jwmrc

seems to work quite well on Macpup Opera2 based on Puppy-4.3.1 .
