Raspberry pi Hynix processor

What works, and doesn't, for you. Be specific, and please include Puppy version.

Raspberry pi Hynix processor

#1 Post by titus »

Hello,
I doubt I'm the only one to find this but there doesn't seem to be post elsewhere on the forum.
The latest Puppi SAP that I can get hold of does not work with the new Hynix processor fitted to the Raspberry pi B (512). Apparently it does with the Samsung chip.
Hey! I may be old, but I'm slow.

The kernel that came with SAP6 is obsolete. I don't think that it is a particular brand of RAM. I think it is all of them that have 512K of RAM that won't work, but I am not 100% on that.

The easiest thing to do is use Berryboot, which has SAP6 but uses its own kernel.

Otherwise, you can just get the kernel from Raspian.

Sorry dancytron,
I was convinced that I'd replied thanking you, obviously not so thank you.
Berryboot does indeed work just fine although the Puppy version for berryboot does have one problem, I can't set the desktop clock. That's an insignificant problem.

Thanks and apologies for the delayed reply.
