Language Pack for Indonesian |
|
Hi,
This is a language pack for Indonesian.
I created it most part with momanager (and a few later with poedit) in Precise-5.4.1.
Well, there may be some typos, mistranslation, etc
(the "Printing with Samba" html file even is not translated, yet).
So, use it, but if you want, fix it..
PS. If you want to fix it, it may be better and easier to use poedit than Geany.
---
Hai,
Ini paket bahasa untuk Bahasa Indonesia
Saya membuatnya memakai momanager kebanyakan bagian (dan sedikit di belakang memakai poedit) di Precise-5.4.1.
Ya, mungkin ada beberapa salah ketik, salah terjemahan, dll
(file html "Mencetak dengan Samba" bahkan belum diterjemahkan).
Jadi, silakan gunakan, tapi kalau mau, silakan perbaiki...
PS. Kalau mau perbaiki, mungkin lebih baik dan mudah memakai poedit daripada Geany.

Hello gungsukma
Wow, Puppy is learning to bark in more and more languages! If you need some help or have any questions, you can ask the langpack maintainers:
esmourguit (French)
L18L (German)
rodin.s (Russian)
robwoj44 (Polish)
vicmz (Spanish) ---> That's me
There isn't a langpack maintainer for Indonesian yet, if you think you can then go for it.
There is some helpful documentation on how to translate Puppy in the Menu > Help > HOWTO Internationalization (you can also read it online).
There is no need to make separate langpack PET packages for individual versions of Puppy Linux, language packs made through Momanager can translate all official versions of Puppy Linux and theirs derivatives as long as they were built from Woof2 version of 28 February 2012 or later, that is:
Official builds
- Precise Puppy (current version is Precise 5.4.3)
- Slacko 5.3.3 and above (current version is Slacko 5.4)
- Wary and Racy 5.3 and above (currently in development: Wary and Racy 5.4 beta 2)
- Squeezed ARM Puppy, or just Puppi (Puppy Linux for the Raspberry Pi board, currently under development)
Derivatives
(Customized versions of Puppy, they may need some extra translations but you can include them all in the same langpack, see the main forum topic of the derivative for more information)
- Dpup Exprimo (latest versions)
- Precise NOP
- Upup Precise
- Lxpup
- ToOpPy
... and any Puppy derivative (pupplet) made from the latest Woof2 (see the Derivatives section).
Greetings and welcome to the kennels!

gungsukma,
This is to help you a little bit with your langpack. I don't speak Indonesian, but I can find out which Puppy programs have translations for your language and where in the langpack PET they must be placed. So, I searched the web and put existing Indonesian translations into your langpack:
https://dl.dropbox.com/s/ex36m2h1fiwkk06/langpack_id-20130107.pet?dl=1
Unfortunately, all I could find in Indonesian is Abiword, Gnumeric and Leafpad, but these are some of the main programs of Puppy Linux. I also included the Hunspell dictionary for Indonesian, for spellchecking in Abiword, Gnumeric, Seamonkey and POedit. If you install the Extract-makePET utility then right-click the langpack and select "extract here", you will see where the Abiword locales and the Hunspell dictionary are, this is important because Momanager still doesn't include them in the langpack automatically. You can download the Extract-makePET utility here:
https://dl.dropbox.com/s/yvonqjdbq6gv58c/Extract-makepet-1.0.pet?dl=1
Once you have put the extra files in their places, simply right-click the folder that the utility extracted and select "makepet", this will package back the folder and its contents into a PET.
For those who want to use LibreOffice in Indonesian, there are packages and translations for LibreOffice here:
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=79039
Seamonkey doesn't have any language extensions for Indonesian yet, but other web browsers have translations for Indonesian:
Firefox (portable version from Mozilla.org) - Opera + language files - Chromium

The lang_pack_all-0.9.sfs has a collection of translations.
I guess you can use it for the start.

If the Indonesian Geany mo file is 90% translated, how to complete it? I cannot open it with poedit nor Geany.
Well, may be I should try something like this first:
poedit/bin/msgunfmt x.mo > x.po
---

# ls -l

Seem like they are to be added to the langpack.
But if the pot files are made available, it will be better so I and other translators can add more translations.
And if any program exists in official Puppy, its po file should be listed in momanager, shouldn't it?

To easily generate .po files from .mo files, use this tool:

Do not know how it is with poedit
but in console (devx loaded) simply use
msgunfmt x.mo > x.po
Or you can directly download id.po from http://i18n.geany.org/id.po but rename it to geany.po because you might have many other id.po files.
Or (recommended)
geany.pot is available at http://i18n.geany.org/geany.pot
if you put it into your /usr/share/doc/nls/geany/ then you should be able to translate it with momanager
I have just done this: yes it works

That was before Barry has made momanager
I doubt that it can produce complete po files.
Assume there are some not translated messsages
they are not in mo file
how should they be created?
Not possible without pot file
momanager dynamically creates pot files for shell scripts
creation for binary files is not that easy and seldom needed
If needed the pot file will be found as /usr/share/doc/nls/program/program.pot (examles: geany, retrovol)
Please let us use momanager when ever possible.
That is the only way to further test it and maybe also improve it.

You're right, I didn't read well gungsukma's message
Sorry I was just waking up
Gungsukma, L18L is right, all you have to do is put the .mo file at /usr/share/locale/id/LC_MESSAGES, and Momanager will detect it. If a .pot file is required, L18L has explained above what you can do to get it.

gungsukma wrote: | ...But if the pot files are made available, it will be better so I and other translators can add more translations. | Yes
You can search for needed pot file
find the source
download it
find the pot file
put it into your /usr/share/doc/nls/program/
.. and you can continue using momanager
check the
#, fuzzy
translations and delete the
#, fuzzy lines
pot file will become part of your langpack
(most of other languages will not need it because their po file is freely available)
gungsukma wrote: | And if any program exists in official Puppy, its po file should be listed in momanager, shouldn't it? |
No, not any. Just the pot files from internationalized shell scripts.
That's Puppy.
Have fun
@vicmz;
Good morning
I hope you find it useful how to launch a program in another language without having to change locale

Of course I can search the pot files for you (and thus for all other new translators)
and you will (just ) translate the scripts....

That would be very appreciated, I can avoid the risk of translating the wrong version of pot files if I search them myself.
Please leave a link (a forum thread link or a download link) here when you've done to let me know.
