How to find which version of MPD is running?

#1 Post by clar2391 »

Is there a way (command line or other) to tell what version of MPD I'm currently running? When I go back to mpdwizard it always defaults to 0.16 and I want to be sure I'm using 0.17.

I haven't got a clue about what MPD is, but in general, all Linux programs/applications should provide the version number by adding the command ' --version' to the program name in a terminal window. As you see below, it doesn't always happen. And please remember, the short version '-v' is usually short for 'verbose', not for 'version'!
