i really doubt that
because it is some 25 years ago
that I slept with somebody
did internet even exist then?
I think internet for average joe came 1989 or so
quote from wikipedia
The Internet was commercialized in 1995
when NSFNET was decommissioned,
removing the last restrictions on the use of
the Internet to carry commercial traffic.
The Internet started a rapid expansion to Europe and Australia in the mid to late 1980s and to Asia in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
/quote
Hotmail ...) is a free web-based email service operated by Microsoft
as part of Windows Live. One of the first web-based email services,
it was founded by Sabeer Bhatia and Jack Smith and launched in
July 1996 as "HoTMaiL"
almost remember this sitting at our biggest library and
reading that one can get a free email and sure I wanted
to have that.
Netscape web browser was founded 1994
so somewhere between 1989 to 1995 it got going big enough
to be counted as a recognized thing for others than the enthusiasts?
Before me was active on Internet I where active on FidoNet since
about1986
FidoNet was originally founded as a non-commercial network in 1984
by Tom Jennings,[1] as a means to network BBSes that used his own
"Fido" BBS software.[2] Over time, other BBS software was independently
adapted to support the relevant FidoNet protocols and the network became
a popular means for computer users to communicate.
Until 1994 with the arrival of commercial Internet,

There is a phrase in there that I have been curious about since I was about 6. It goes: | Quote: | ...
He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
... | Coming from the strict Christian religious family as I did, I had been taught that only one being had that ability... and he and he alone would judge me. Then, WOW, he becomes Santa Claus once a year??? Some parallel, huh.
Surveillance in the hands of well minded people and "officials" can be applied to public detriment versus the public's good. Maybe the world is approaching too many Santa's using technology.
That's why the title and the WOW reference.

Then I get it better.
Maybe you remember?
Did we not have a thread some year or two ago
also about security and data mining.
Either BBC Tech or technocrati blog mag??
or some similar online mag. Wired or Saloon or what?
Anyway my tell me BBC but I can be wrong.
they had been told that some 70 small "cottage"
Firms lived on doing Data Mining of ordinary Citizens
and selling the info to Ad companies and others.
age married, where they live work with income
mobile phones what pages they visit what hobbies
and whom they related to using email and so on.
total info on everythign they dd online and they collected
this 24/7 using smart statistical programs that targeted people
due to unique patterns they made use of in browser and so on.
that is how I remembered it. I can be wrong.
would be cool to find that info again.

I love this quote from the article:
| Quote: | | He said that he carefully segregated his work at Google from his human rights research. | At least I can sleep easy knowing his ethics prevent him from sharing with google his knowledge of what I am doing, and when/how I'm doing it. Just maybe google already knows...

Hope it is okay to tease a bit.
Some people tell the whole world what Pizza they ate
Another teasing. When I live in a suburb to Stockholm
then the neighbor under us played Elvis so loud we knew
exactly which Elvis song he loved the best .
Don't Be Cruel and Hound Dog. those was those he preferred.
So there are many ways to know people. Another older way.
some Reporters where so bad behaving them pretended to
be Garbage collectors and they took the garbage and sift through
all the old pizzas and what not and then found mails and other things
that could tell secrets about the Celebrity.
