TrueCrypt 7.1a Error: The drive uses a sector size ...

#1 Post by isoulyah »

Hey together

It's my first post and also my first time with a linux based system, so forgive me if i ask dumb stuff ;).

The plan is to recover deleted data from the hdd.
Therefore i need my encrypted ext. hdd decrypted with TC to copy a backup image of the hdd there before I start running recovery-programs which might make it worse ;)

After succefully getting rid of " No such file or directory. dmsetup"-Error with the help of an old post from RetroTechGuy (thx), i get this error now:

Error: The drive uses a sector size other than 512 bytes.

Due to limitations of components available on your platform, partition/device-hosted volumes on the drive can only be mounted using kernel cryptographic services.

Possible solutions:
- Enable use of the kernel cryptographic services (Preferences > System Integration).
- Use a drive with 512-byte sectors.
- Create a file-hosted volume (container) on the drive.

aaaany suggestions? sounds bad to me :/
hope you can help me, i'm getting a little frustrated here...

thx a lot for reading
